Certified Welding

A certified welder holds a certification (an official document) certifying the welder has the ability to produce welds in accordance with accepted written procedures. A welder becomes certified by passing a series of test administered by the American Welding Society (AWS).


“R-Stamp” certified company allowing us to do repair and/or alterations of boilers, pressure vessels, and other pressure-retaining items. This certification is granted by the National Board of Pressure Vessels and has to be renewed every three years.

In our shop we are able to fabricate steam headers, tanks, frames and other welding items.

Valley Boiler & Mechanical, Inc. has passed the certification process to do work for Roanoke Gas. The welding tests are in addition to the AWS requirements.
